Keeping baby bottles clean is very important. Clean bottles stop germs from spreading. This helps your baby stay healthy. Here’s how to properly clean baby feeding bottles at home.
1. Get Ready
Before you start, get a special area ready. This space should be just for cleaning baby bottles.
- What you need:
- A separate wash basin or bowl. Do not use your kitchen sink for baby items.
- A bottle brush.
- A nipple brush.
- Gentle dish soap (unscented is best).
- A clean drying rack or towel.

2. Take Apart and Rinse
First, break down the bottle into all its parts.
- Steps:
- Take off the nipple, ring, cap, and bottle.
- Throw out any leftover milk.
- Rinse all parts under cool, running water. This gets rid of most milk.

3. Wash with Soap and Water
Now, scrub each part well with soap.
- Steps:
- Fill your special basin with warm, soapy water.
- Use the bottle brush to scrub the inside of the bottle. Make sure you reach the bottom.
- Use the nipple brush for nipples and rings. Squeeze water through the nipple hole. This cleans inside.
- Scrub all other small parts like caps and valves.
- Make sure all milk residue is gone.
